. What is a reglaze?
This is when new lenses are put into your new or existing frames
. Can you do varifocal lenses?
Of course we can. We can take the critical measurements from the existing pair and match these exactly to the same frame or apply them to a new frame.
. Why are your prices so low?
As we are a UK, Internet only based company our overheads are significantly less than the high street Opticians (Boots, D&A, Specsavers etc) This allows us to provide you with much cheaper lenses, in some cases this will be as little as a ¼ of their price.
. Are your lenses the same as those supplied by my Opticians?
All our lenses are supplied by a leading UK lens manufacturers, the lenses are made to the highest specification and all conform to British Standard BS2738-3 2004.
. What is a Spectacle refurbishment?
We have a spectacle refurbishment service for those who choose to reglaze a frame that has already been worn. We can replace screws, nose pads and end-tips to the sides that may be damaged or discoloured and we will clean the frame ultrasonically. For a small surcharge your frame can be made to look and feel like new. Repairs and frame straightening cannot be done.
. What is high index?
This refers to lenses that are made of more dense materials, this makes them thinner and lighter too. We have 3 levels of high index thin, super thin and ultra thin lens.
. What is distance, inter and near?
This may appear on your prescription and refers to the type of glasses needed. Distance for driving, television etc, intermediate for computer use, near for reading, writing etc .
. Do you do sunglass lenses or tinting?
Yes you can order standard single vision tinted on the website. For the tinting of any other lenses like High Index, bifocal or varifocal please ask for details.
. Do you reglaze rimless spectacles?
Yes we reglaze rimless and semi-rimless specs at no extra cost.
. Which type of lenses do you offer?
All our lenses are supplied by leading UK lens manufacturers, the lenses are made to the highest specification and all conform to British Standard BS2738-3 2004. All our lenses are made from plastic materials. Standard plastic, thin, super thin, ultra thin and reactions. We can also supply all types of bifocal/varifocal and other specialist lenses, please ask for details
. What type of lens coatings do you offer?
Anti-scratch (HC), Anti-reflection (MAR), Ultra clean (UC) and Ultra Violet (UV), Blue-V and Mirrors
. What is your returns policy?
The 30 day guarantee period begins from date of order of goods. The guarantee covers goods that have a manufacturing fault only. If this is the case, please return your glasses to ciliaryblue and we will replace the lenses free of charge. If you wish to return your lenses for a refund, for this reason you need call 01455 293417 for a refund amount and return the lenses, in good order, at which point we will consider refunding fully. We will where necessary reinstate any previous lenses to the frames previously owned by the buyer.
. Do you accept NHS vouchers?
We do accept NHS vouchers, we ask you to pay the full amount for the reglaze and we will refund the voucher value once received and signed in sections 2 & 4. The voucher is worth £15 for single vision. Please call for details for bifocal and varifocal voucher values. Please pay for the lenses via the order process, we will refund the value back to you once received.
. How do I qualify for a NHS Voucher
An NHS voucher is supplied to you by your optician if you are entitled when you have your eyes tested.
Those entitled to this voucher are:
• Students in full time education up to the age of 18.
• Persons claiming Tax credit, Income support, Job seekers allowance, Pension credit guarantee.
• Also those with an HC-2 or HC-3 certificate.
Please remember this voucher MUST be signed and completed on both sides. ‘Part 2’ on the front and ‘Part 4’ on the back under ‘Patient’s declaration’.
. Do you accept Eyecare/ Endenred Employers Vouchers?
We will accept theses vouchers, if you pay the full amount, send in the voucher with the glasses for reglaze, we will refund the voucher value.
. How can I pay?
We accept all major credit/debit cards (including American Express) and PayPal
. Are my credit card details safe?
All credit card details are processed through a secure network.
. Can I order by phone and pay by cheque?
We have staff available to process orders manually for you, please ring 01455 293417 for assistance.
. Can I place an order if I live outside the UK?
We are happy to receive orders from all around the world. We won't send a pre-paid box to you, we ask you to send the glasses and prescription to the lab address. We will glaze and send back with an International Signed for service.
. Do you do contact lenses?
We do not supply contact lenses
. Will my frames need fitting after being reglazed?
The frames can sometimes change slightly when fitted with prescription lenses. Most High Street Opticians will normally refit the frames for you without any charge.
. Will you be careful with my frames, when they're being glazed?
We treat all the frames that we receive with care, as though they were our own! If we damage or break frames because of our mis-treatment we will replace it. This though happens rarely, if we feel the frame you send in, will not last the process we will inform you.
