We have been experimenting now for some time adding Swarovski® Rhinestones to the outside edge of a lens for decoration and to disguise the thickness of the lens (with high short sighted prescriptions). The crystals are not just glued to the edge of the lens as this makes them liable to come away. We instead drill a small conical impression in the lens and fit the crystal into it. This makes them more secure and gives a fantastic look. The crystals are foil backed so reflections and apperance is improved. The extra charge for this per pair is £30 (5 crystals per lens) if more crystals are wanted please call for details. It is better be done with rimless and is better with higher minus powers (short sighted). We can add to the front surface of a lens for appearance only and is added away from any line of sight. Carol,
We charge £30 per pair, which is up to 5 crystals per lens, more can be done if wanted. The price for the varifocal lenses can be found on our blog under the varifocal category, it is difficult to quote for this until we know what type of varifocal you want. Have a look and let us know.
Regards
Ed
